Our weekend in Boise!

WARNING: Long post ahead. Proceed at your own risk.

This weekend we went to Boise to visit Jared's sister Angela. We always have so much fun with them, and this time was no different. In fact, this time was better, because Xander is now old enough we can just send him to play with the kids, and not worry about him (too much).

We got there Friday night, and had a wonderful dinner, and then just played together.

Saturday we went to the Disney store (Jared gets a discount there, and we don't have one in Utah). It was so much fun. We all bought matching T-shirts to wear. It was great. We also did Xander's Christmas and birthday shopping while there.

When we got back (after the kids' naps) we went to the pool. It was AWESOME! Xander LOVES the pool. Here are some pictures.

Here is Jared and Xander about to get in the water.

Then Xander learned how fun it is to jump off the side into Dad's arms. Here he is taking a flying leap. Also, I thought I would play with uploading a video. You will have to let me know if this works:

On Sunday morning, Brandon came into our room and decided it was fun to climb into bed with Xander. It was so cute, I just HAD to snap a photo.
Then once we all got dressed, I went downstairs to find this: All three boys are in their new Disney shirts, and blue jean shorts playing with blocks.
Here it is from the front:
Here was Kathleen drawing a picture:
And Ang cooking lunch (her and Kathleen have matching shirts, Brandon and Ryan are matching, Jared and Xander are matching, and Cody and I have random ones).
Here is a picture Kathleen took of Xander and me.
Then while we waited for Jared to get showered, we all went to the park. Here Xander and Brandon are going down the slide together (notice Xander's Mickey shirt, and Brandon's Goofy shirt and in the background is Ryan in his Goofy shirt).
This is Brandon, Kathleen, Cody and Ryan.
Here are Kathleen and Ryan and Cody going down the slide.
Brandon learned how to use this swing thing.

Cody also went down the slide on his very own:
Then Ryan helped him crawl back up:
Once Jared was ready we took a family picture in our matching shirts. We also go one of both families, but it is on Angs camera.
Xander also tried shrimp for the first time: Yummy.
Or not so yummy.
Xanders other favorite part (besides having friends to play with, and a pool next door) was jumping on the trampoline. He LOVED IT! Here he is "cheesing" for the camera.
Brandon and Xander loved playing together.

Then Monday before we left to come home, we went back to the pool. Xander and Cody loved sharing the wagon and playing with an orange toy:

Here is a seldom seen picture of me in the pool.
Here is Brandon jumping off the edge into the pool.
And Kathleen standing on my shoulders (our favorite pool game)
And Brandon's favorite game was jumping into the pool through his daddy's arms.

And here is Xander and I bundled up after we swam. We had such an AWESOME weekend. We were so sad to leave. Especially Xander. But like all trips, we were ready to be home.
WARNING: Longer rant ahead, proceed at your own risk?
However, once we got home we walked into our house to realize it was 87 degrees INSIDE our home. We tried to figure out what the heck was wrong, and found that our power was out, but only in half our home. It was so FRUSTRATING. I mean a brand new home shouldn't have power problems.
We tried resetting all the breakers, we tried a BUNCH of things. Finally we paged the electrician who worked on our house. We described the power problems. He said it sounded like the Electric Companies problem, and recommended we call them. We called them, and they said they noted it and would send an electrician out, but they didn't know when. Sigh.
So here we are in the meantime, with the temperature INSIDE our house going up to 89 degrees. Ultimately we decided just to stay home, and open all the windows, just in case the technicians came. And luckily enough, we did. They came at 9:45 pm. They restored power to all our 120 v items (lights, tv, computers, etc.), but said that the line was faulty, and they would have to replace it, in the meantime we would be without all 240 v items (A/C, dryer, oven, A/C, and A/C). Sigh. At least we know what is wrong, AND that tomorrow morning it WILL be fixed AND it won't cost us a thing AND it will be fixed permanently.
He said sometimes the lines get nicked during construction, and no problems show up until it either gets wet/rained on or seperates further.
Anyhow, long story short, we now have power, AND tomorrow we will have A/C. In the meantime it is 84 degrees INSIDE at 11:14 p.m. But at least we have lights.
We also had a WONDERFUL weekend in Boise. Ang was a terrific hostess, and always made such wonderful, amazing meals (like Ham and Pototatoes, and Crepes). Thanks again Ang, for having us over this weekend.

Holy Long Blog! I can't hardly believe it. But it sounds like you had so much fun at ang and ryans! I'm glad you don't have to pay for your electric to get fixed. That would be so frustrating though not to have AC!

What a cute bunch of pictures you got. That is great. I am so sorry about your A/C. By the way, you always make me sound better than I am in your blogs. I LOVE it.

What Great Pictures!!! Xander is growing up so fast. He is almost 2!!! Wow!
And I know what you mean about the fact that a new house should not have electrical problems...but they always seem to. Our brand new home in California had problems with so many things...electrical, smoke detectors going off all the time...screens on windows missing, and cracks in tile and on the microwave...etc...I could go on and on. I feel for you.

Good thinking, getting all his presents. Yes, Xander, good joy, shrimp is not so yummy. I'm glad you have aquired that taste. Wo, wo, heidi looks like one hot mama in the pool. That totally blows, about your AC. And they came at 9 45 pm? What is with that? At least they came though. I'm glad everything is better now. Loves!
