Hunting vs World of Warcrap

My dear sister Leisa and I have both been lamenting about loosing our husbands to their hobbies.  And while we do understand they both love their escape, I have realized that there are a lot of things that these two hobbies have in common:
  • Hunters leave their wives for hours on end to sit in the cold and hopefully shoot something.  WoW players leave their wives for hours on end to sit at home in their office hoping they will shoot something.
  • Hunters get up in the wee hours of the morning (around 4 am) to go hunting.  WoW players go to bed at that same wee hour of the morning, after being up all night playing.
  • Hunters, when they finally shoot something, bring home their spoils to show off to their friends that they got to skin, pluck and eat their kill.  WoW players, when they finally shoot something, shout out to the general chat that they got to skin, pluck and eat their kill.
  • Hunters talk for hours on end about fishing, hunting and skinning.  WoW players talk for hours on end about fishing, hunting and skinning.
  • Hunters come home empty handed week after week, yet still say it was worth going.  WoW players come home empty handed week after week, because after all it is just a video game, and you won't ever get anything worthwhile from it, and still say it was worth playing.

That is pretty funny :) Steve likes video games but he hasn't gotten in to the WOW circle and I'm pretty happy cuz I hear it is very addicting.
