For years Jared and I have been wanted to purchase bikes for us to ride. Everytime we are about to purchase them, something else comes up (taxes due, loss of job, etc.). So this year, for Jared's spring break, we talked about going to Disneyland/California. But then we realized that for the price it would cost us in gas just to go down there, we could buy bikes.
So for the past month I priced bikes, and FINALLY found some very reasonably priced, and on Monday (Presidents Day), the were on sale for 20% off. So we bought them.

We almost bought a little trailer thing for Xander, but we aren't sure if he is too big for it. So we didn't buy him one yet. We are debating if we should just buy him a bike, or use the trailer, or if we should get one of the child seats to attach to the bike? We just aren't sure.If there is anyone out there who reads this blog that has a little bike trailer thing or a bike seat for toddlers, would you be willing to let us borrow it a couple of times to see if it works? (we would be willing to pay rental fees if necessary). We just don't want to purchase it, if it won't work.
Anyhow, we are SUPER excited (and although Disneyland would have been fun, this was WAYYY cheaper, and we will get more use out of them). Now, if the weather here would just cooperate.

i would say that xander is too big for a trailer. but i'm sure he would love the kind of bike that attaches to yours. i think they look super cool.
i have a trailer. he's not too big, avery still rides in it. they make much nicer ones than mine. you can borrow it if you like. melanie has one too. a trailer is good if you think you might have another kid. the half bike attachments cost as much as a bike or more and they don't get ridden for very long. the seats that go on your bike, he is probably too big for. avery refuses to even sit on a bike so he's still in the trailer when we ride and stroller when we walk.

Definately go with a trailer. He's not too big. Lucas road in ours all the time last summer, and he's six. We actually put two kids in ours. My kids love it.
I think you should get him his own bike too. Allie loves her bike and will ride it all over, and she can go pretty fast.
i'm jealous. I told wally i wanted to start riding bikes with him and he laughed then reminded me that my knee swells really really big when i ride. But then he said we could get motorbikes. i guess that'll do.
For years and years I have wanted to purchase bikes for Tamy and I. Unfortunatly Tamy doesn't care about riding bikes very much. Oh well, enjoying ridin for me!
